Though of Italian heritage, Daniel Gabriel Rossetti lived in London all of his
life. In fact, he never visited Italy. His family encouraged him to
take up a career in art and Daniel started writing at an early age. In
addition to publishing several books, he was also a renown painter.
He often suffered from severe eccentricities, manias, and hallucinations which
began to affect his work during the last few years of his life.
